I am aged 35 years working for legal process industry in Bangalore and planning  for transition in the field of IPR.I am a B.sc LLB graduate pursuing a Post graduate diploma in IPR from NLSIU, Banglore. • Since you are a B.Sc graduate, you can appear for the Patent Agent Examination. A LLB with a science or technology degree is seen a good combination.

I have passed LL.B. examination in 2001 and is currently working as an In-house advocate with a reputed constructed company in Pune. I do not have educational background relating to Science, Engineering or technology. Please guide whether i can be eligible to appear for examination to be qualified as registered patent agent. Please treate the matter most urgent as I am being offered a job opportunity wherein patent litigation would be my job-profile.

• An Advocate without Scinece and Technology degree is not eligible for becoming a Patent Agent as per the Act. As per the recent judgement of Honourable MHC, which striked down the eligibility. However the decision has been challenged by Patent Agents Association apart from India Patent Office.

hello. i am currently doing biotech, in 4th year now. i am keenly interested to take patents as my career forward, for the same i need your little help. 1stly i want to know about the scope of this field, 2ndly when should i start its prepration and from where should i prepare for the exam. please sir this is very crucial for me to get the proper guidence and work on correct path, i have searched about it alot on net but still the picture is not clear. it would be a great help if you could spare a little time and rply back.

I came across your organization a couple of days ago when searching on the web. You website declares that anyone can contact you for queries or information regarding the patent proffession. However, my query relates to the PAE-2011 held in January 2011. The results of the PAE were disclosed in May 2011. I secured 76 marks in paper 1 and 80 marks in the Viva-voce but secured only 45 marks in paper 2. However, I am certain that my answers would surely have merited a score of 50 marks or above in paper 2 but do not know how to go about asking for re-evaluation or if there is any provision as such. I have read and searched the whole Patent act and Patent Rules for a provision for addressing this issue. I may have probably missed something.
